Dwayne was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He graduated from the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in 2001 and received his undergraduate and law degrees from The University of Texas. While in law school, Dwayne was a member of the Board of Advocates and participated in numerous mock trial, voir dire, mediation, and negotiation competitions at the local, regional, and national levels. In his final year of law school, he was admitted to The Order of Barristers, an honor awarded to the top 10 advocates of each graduating class. He also served as a staff member, and later as an associate editor, of The Review of Litigation and as a student mentor to first year law students.
Before joining Gardner Aldrich, Dwayne was an associate with a law firm in Austin, Texas. There, he counseled clients in mergers and acquisitions, stock and asset sales, employment agreements, entity selection and formation, and other corporate transactional matters.
Dwayne’s lovely wife Mary is a native of Fort Worth and an attorney with a local law firm. They have two dogs, Teddy and Molly, who help to occupy Dwayne when he is not watching Longhorn football.
